Viennese Delights

As is generally known, Vienna is a great place for people with a sweet tooth. There are cake shops and ice cream parlours in almost any street, and some of them are home to legendary sweets. But you shouldn’t only visit the obvious places like “Demel” and “Sacher”! There are also some less renowned shops and cafés that are worth looking by.

My favourite one is called “Chocolaterie Pâtisserie au Marché“ and located near the famous “Naschmarkt”.
The proprietor, Mr. Eduard A. Fruth, has for many years been one of the most celebrated pastry chefs in Vienna. But in the past you could enjoy his wonderful creations only at some upscale restaurants. Then he retired. Fortunately he was very soon very bored with his new way of life and decided to open his own little French-style cake shop.
There Mr. Fruth now offers a small but excellent choice of cakes, desserts and chocolates – pure bliss for people like me who are addicted to their daily sugar rush!
